For the past 5 years, Babbage has been working closely with Rabobank (+/- 59.000 employees) to stimulate and endorse Rabobank’s diversity and inclusion policy. The question Babbage received from Rabobank was about technical challenges in Rabobank’s accessibility software and company-specific programs. Namely, their visually impaired employees could not work efficiently in a not accessible (digital) workplace. The challenges Rabobank encountered were mainly related to organizing its workplaces optimally for its disabled employees. They noticed that customization was required for every employee. As a result, not all company-specific programs were accessible. Employees were unable or inefficient performing certain tasks at work.
Babbage started researching the possibilities of implementing accessibility software in their technical complex server environment and eventually, we found a suitable solution.
Inclusion Desk department
In addition, Rabobank has set up the Inclusion Desk department, which means that they have an internal team that actively endorses their diversity and inclusion policy. Their goal is to better support their current employees that need any form of assistance and scout for new talents with or without the need of assistive technology to work.
Rabobank has become an inclusive organization with accessible workplaces for employees with disabilities. Babbage still works closely together with the Rabobank Inclusion Desk. Together we ensure that all Rabobank branches have accessible workplaces for everyone
